Headquartered in Tuscany, Italy, Effebi has been run by the Balducci family since 1983. Today, it is an undisputed global name in the shipping sector, leading the field in the processing of fiberglass and composite materials using advanced technologies.
The company specialises in 15-50 metre vessels, with the Effebi brand representing the commercial and patrol craft sector and the renowned Mangusta, Mangusta Gransport and Mangusta Oceano brand producing luxury maxi open and displacement yachts.
Effebi operates in various facilities in Massarosa, Massa and Carrara-Avenza areas, covering a total surface area for production of around 72.500 square metres (in and outdoors). All production facilities are fitted with state-of-the-art equipment and systems which ensure products are always of the highest quality.
“We want to retain the ethics of a family business, and that means pursuing expansion step-by-step. Everything is done in-house, from design to composite lamination and fitting out the electrical system. It is important we remain streamlined, organic and versatile, so we can satisfy the individual requirements of different clients.” says Katia Balducci. The company prefers to treat each specific vessel as a new project in itself rather than taking a factory line approach and producing standardised vessel types.
A highly specialised team of Effebi experts is always on hand to advise Clients on the best technical solutions for their project and guarantee quality during every stage of the process, from the design to the finished product through the various stages of construction: mock-up engineering, mould manufacturing, lamination, infusion, assembling and final fairing.
The entire production process passes through an experienced quality control system to ensure the highest standards required by the International Classification Authorities and above all to match customer satisfaction by observing a policy of total environmental respect.
Effebi has invested in research all along in order to improve the environment and promote safety in the workplace. Effebi is acknowledged and approved by all Shipping Registers (RINA, Lloyd’s Register, Bureau Veritas, American Bureau of Shipping, Norske Veritas and KKK-Japan) and production complies with Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance. Effebi was awarded with the certifications ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004.
