the world’s leading naval defence exhibition (4th-7th November, 2024)

Paris, 4th November 2024

Italian boat builder Effebi, who specializes in the military and merchant sectors and, thanks to more than 30 years’ experience in the construction of vessels in composite material up to 50 metres in length, is a leading supplier of public entities in Italy and Europe, is taking part in Euronaval 2024 (Paris Nord Villepinte, 4th- 7th November) – Hall 6 – stand D25.

“Euronaval is a ‘must’ event we have been attending for many years and a unique opportunity to showcase and share our Group’s latest projects and advancements. We are currently about to deliver the tenth of twenty 8-metre patrol boats” says Effebi SPA’s Managing Director Katia Balducci.

Effebi keeps proving to be a key player on the market for institutional clients like Guardia di Finanza (the Italian Financial Police), to whom for several years now the Company has been providing consultancy services and supplying products with a strong focus on environmental friendliness, functionality, maximum comfort at the workplace, and safety. This is why Effebi is currently developing new military crafts in aluminium and finalising more contracts with Guardia di Finanza for the construction of fast patrol boats as well as a number of interceptors.

Since 2020, Effebi ha delivered several naval units, including:

44-metre Fast Patrol Boat “Tenente Petrucci”. Unit No. 1 was delivered to Guardia di Finanza in June 2021. The patrol boat was built after Effebi won the call for tenders launched by the Corps back in 2019 and co-funded by the EU as part of the Internal Security Fund (FRONTEX).

A 16.5 metre interceptor, a super-fast, unprecedented model in the Italian Financial Police’s fleet, which can safely reach a speed of 68 knots. The Italian police force needed a boat that would allow to carry out police operations in particularly choppy sea conditions to effectively combat illegal trafficking perpetrated by super-fast boats, as well as strengthen Guardia di Finanza’s role as the only police force operating at sea.

Ten hybrid-propulsion 8-metre boats to navigate Venice internal waters and protected marine areas, also built for Guardia di Finanza. Thanks to their limited size (8 metres in length, a 2.45-metre width and a maximum height of 1.80 metres) and excellent manoeuvrability, these crafts are ideal to operate in the lagoon, an area characterised by considerable tidal ranges, shallow waters, and limited heights. Moreover, the noiseless electric mode is perfect to move around fragile marine areas.

A 22-metre Fast Patrol Vessel delivered to the Police Maritime of the Principality of Monaco, specifically developed for patrolling, firefighting, and rescue operations.

Effebi was established in 1983 by the Balducci family, who keep running the business to this day. The Company is currently an undisputed international leader in the naval sector thanks to the use of advanced technologies for the processing of fibreglass and other composite materials. It specialises in boats between 15 and 50 metres in length for the merchant and military sectors under the Effebi brand, and in recreational yachts under the well-known brand Mangusta, Mangusta GranSport and Mangusta Oceano.

Effebi can rely on several shipyards in Tuscany, in Massarosa, Massa and Carrara-Avenza, totalling 72,500 sq. m including both indoor and outdoor areas. All sites are fitted with cutting-edge systems and equipment allowing to deliver world-class products.
“Ours is a family-run business driven by strong values and a long-standing tradition. All manufacturing activities, from design to composite lamination, all the way to the assembly of electrical components, take place in-house. This means high flexibility, which is key to meet the specific needs of every single Client”, continues Katia Balducci.

The Company considers every boat as a stand-alone project with its own unique features – an approach that is far cry from mass production. Overmarine can rely on highly qualified personnel, capable of supporting the Client in the selection of the best technical solutions and making sure that every construction phase is carefully controlled, so as to deliver a truly high-quality product: from design and the mathematical modelling of wooden or milled models to the construction stages that eventually result in the finished product: moulding, lamination and/or infusion, assembly of individual components and the body. The entire manufacturing process is subject to strict quality control, to ensure the best standards required by the various International Classification Bodies and, above all, to achieve maximum customer satisfaction – always with a strong focus on environmental friendliness.

Effebi has always invested in research to protect the environment and ensure safety at the workplace. It is recognised and certified by all registers of shipping (RINA, Lloyd’s Register, Bureau Veritas, American Bureau of Shipping, Noske Veritas and KKK-Japan) and has aligned its manufacturing process to Lloyd Register’s Quality Control requirements.

The Company has also been certified to standards ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004.
