Progetto di Ricerca
The REVYTA (REcupero Vetroresina Yacht Trains cAmper – Refitting of Fiberglass Yachts – Trains – Campervans) project is aimed at developing new market opportunities, offering a solution to one of the most sensitive, and so far unsolved, environmental problems – the management of fiberglass waste.
This project aims to promote an industrial and eco-sustainable fiberglass recycling model – unprecedented in Europe – through the dismantling, disposal and recycling of fiberglass used in the nautical sector (boats), the automotive sector (camper vans), and transport (railway carriages).
At the same time, eco-design studies will allow to optimize the upstream production of components, in terms of alternative shapes and materials, in order to allow, downstream, for their easier and cheaper dismantling, recovery and recycling.
In its second stage, the project will test a series of Industry 4.0 Strategy automation and robotics solutions that can help speed up the cutting of GRP parts, avoiding operations that may endanger the health of workers, while also raising the professional qualifications of the staff employed and drastically reducing costs.
REVYTA is a project carried out by the project-based temporary association of companies (Associazione Temporanea di Scopo, ATS) set up by EFFEBI Spa, the Lead Company, and partners DIFE Spa, Sniap Srl, Flashpoint Srl, Consorzio Polo Tecnologico Magona (Magona Technological Hub Consortium), Scuola Superiore di Studi Universitari e di Perfezionamento S. Anna Istituto di Biorobotica (S. Anna School of Advanced Studies, Institute of Biorobotics), and Pisa University’s Department of Architecture.
The project is co-funded by Tuscany’s ERDF ROP 2014-2020.
